I swear I’m not a blogwhore.

It’s just that I forgot to mention that today begins the month of April.

Or as I like to call it: The month where Shaba spends no money.

This is happening because recent events and future events, like my smarty pants friends graduating and the summer of a million concerts, are doing a number on my reserve funds. I admit I’m a bit of a penny pincher and when my account drops below a certain number I get nervous. And it’s WAY below that number. So, no more spending for me.

Obviously I have to spend some money, you know, on things like rent. But besides those stupid monthly bills from credit card company, the car company and my landlord…no money shall leave my bank account.

No ATM visits. No credit card purchases. No “but I need that!” spending will occur.

Not. Even. Groceries.

Yes, you read correctly. From here on out it’s whatever is edible in my apartment, what I can pilfer off my parents and friends, and meals I have already paid for via my school cafeteria tab. It actually shouldn’t be too bad. I was taking inventory and with a few well planned trips with a cooler to my parent’s house I should be able to survive quite well. I’ve got a lot of the basics and a ton of frozen/canned/hard to see expire products.

I’m actually excited by the challenge.

And I thought you might be too.

But maybe I’m wrong.

And maybe I am just a blogwhore.

Whatev.

  • No money at all?! Like, not even on a random lipgloss or …. a dollar draft?!

  • It’s ok, be a blogwhore. Everybody loves them :)

  • Brookem-nope. nada. though any money i happen to find i’m allowing myself to spend. Which has led to my searching couch cushions and the bottom of my purse…a quarter?! Score!

Annette- This is true. But only when they have something interesting to say. Otherwise it’s just reader-spam.

  • I’ve been tightening the belt too. If I can make it next Friday with the spare hundred dollars I’m counting on, I will consider it a MAJOR accomplishment. Fingers crossed- glad I’m not alone in this!
