Is it bad that all I hear in my head everytime I see an engagement is a chorus of cherub-like lawyers singing “50% divorce rate, 50% divorce rate” jubilantly with harps and lutes?

I’m not sure of your upbringing or whatever, so I could be totally talking out of my ass, but I find it’s hard to back a new couple when I’ve been raised through transient relationships and divorces. It’s taken a lot of work to undo that kind of thinking.
