and he’s been on me to watch these videos, so I finally did. And I told him if they passed my screening I’d pass them along to you, because I’m a good friend. And, actually, it did make me laugh…

The first video is a popular one on youtube, My New Haircut. The second is Mark’s parody, My New Soccer Jacket.

Enjoy!

Now I’m Smiling September 16, 2008

Today started off badly.
I got up late, I couldn’t concentrate at work, one of my deadlines got moved up and I got sucked into two more projects. My dad and I started an epic email battle over politics, he kept sending me SarahPalinIsGod email forwards and I kept sending him Feministing articles.  I could go on about the stupidity and annoyance that followed, but I’ve already bitched and moaned to AlexMac about it and no one else should have to be burdened by my rage.  In addition to all this I ended up staying late at work to try and make tomorrow more bearable and by the time I got to my car I was parked in.

Talk about a rough morning.

Then I decided to walk to Barnes and Noble to kill time and use their bathroom and lo and behold…they have them locked! I don’t know about you, but I HATE asking salespeople for the key to the bathroom. So I went next door to use the crappy department store bathroom, which conveniently were not locked. And to think I was going to buy an overpriced frosty beverage from the BN, yea you heard me, no profit for you today Big Business Book Seller! Pppppttt! Unlock your damn bathrooms and we’ll talk.

While I walked through town I received the most non-offensive catcall ever. As I was walking and texting twitter, some guy called out to me, “Have a great day, beautiful!” It definitely perked me up a little bit, but not nearly as much as what followed.
When I eventually got home (about 2 hours later) I received the best day-booster ever; The Boy had sent me these lovely pieces of flora…

And the card? It’s my favorite part. It said, “each of these roses is for one of the three months in which you’ve changed my life,” and more squee-worthy sentiments that I’m savoring for myself.

Ready? All together now, “Awwww.” You know you did it.
