That’s what I thought the lyric was to that song, a song that I’ve heard twice in my life but have been singing the refrain in my head every Monday for years. Never mind that Matic isn’t a real world, that was how the song went dammit. I never understood why she would “wish it was Sunday,” or how Sunday could be anyone’s “Fun Day.” Sunday denotes the end of the weekend. It’s bittersweet. I know it had to rhyme, but still. Dumb.
Forever I thought the correct lyric to Deep Blue Something’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s was “I remember the building,” not “I remember the film and..” I thought Tiffany’s was the name of a restaurant they went to. This was before I saw the movie obviously (one of my favorites btw).
Tristus used to sing to Eric from the Little Mermaid that she wanted to be “Part of Your Word,” we were little, but I still knew she was wrong.
The best misheard song lyric? My mother’s interpretation of The Lion King opening number: “Peeennnsylvvvannia! Lebanese kielbasa! Pink pajamas penguins on the bottom, pink pajamas penguins on the bottom, pink pajamas penguins on the bottom.”
She now owns 3 pairs of pink pajamas with penguins on them.
Fin.
