Somebody’s gotta be interested in how I feel, just ’cause I’m here and I’m real.

Because We Know I Can’t Make Decisions October 8, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Shaba @ 4:09 pm

I need your help.

The Boy and I have booked our engagement session with our wedding photographer.

We’ll probably be getting photos here.

In October.

With leaves and pretty colors and gorgeousness and I haven’t a clue what to wear.

I went to the mall today to look around and I spotted this dress.

But I’m not sold.

I’m trying to keep in mind that

A) I don’t want us to blend into the scenery

B) I don’t want to do the white shirt/jeans thing

C) I don’t want to go too dressy or not look like ourselves (of course, this is more for me than him because if The Boy doesn’t have some help he’ll wear his “I Bent My Wookie” t-shirt and jeans that don’t fit.)

D) I don’t want to look like I’m going to the grocery store.

So, jeans and a cute top? A casual dress and stellar accessories?

Help.

2 words – multiple outfits :-) My old roomie did this and her engagement photos were really cute – some more casual and some more dressy, and then you will have a nice selection to choose from! For the boy, you can get him to bring a dressy shirt and a more casual (but still nice) shirt. Your location is beautiful! Have fun!!

    Some “classic” outfits. you know…

cute knit T, fitted blazer, jeans, boots.

    sun dress, nice heals

a light blue dress with puffed sleeves, a white apron, and a small blue bird perched delicately on your finger.

We just did our pics last weekend. We did two outfits:

    #1
Him- khaki shorts and a polo
    Me- cute little green dress

    #2
Him- jeans and a button down shirt
Me- dark blue jeans and a cute pink shirt

I think we looked like cleaned up versions of ourselves. I preferred solid colors b/c I wasn’t sure how prints would turn out in the pictures.

I’m in the same situation right now! Our engagement photo’s are in a week and I have no idea what to wear. Right now I’m leaning towards jeans and a nice sweater. But we are also having our photo’s done twice with two different photographers (long story).

I like the dress you found though. It’s pretty and still can be worn casual.

What were you wearing when he proposed? Would it work, you think? Because that would be awesome.

a simple dress with amazing accessories for the win! it always works, and looks so effing classy.

also cute jeans with an amazing top and great accessories works too. that always my go to outfit for “smart casual” events.

That location is BEAUTIFUL! I agree with Tristus — different outfits sounds like a nice idea. :-)

So completely off this topic (but I would back up the multiple outfits–or did you even think maybe a nice light jacket with an awesome scarf? that could be really great and comfortable) but I saw that you posted something on twitter about needing that song edited. Not only do I think the same exact thing every time I hear the opening of the song (I play the song just for that part sometimes) but I could edit it down for you to a format that would work if your ipod supports video.. for some reason, it always saves as an .mp4 but you might be more tech savvy than me and be able to convert it. Let me know if you want me to do something for it!

Go for a teal dress. Teal looks AMAZING on you, especially shiny teal. And I’m not just saying that because I like shiny. But, also have the more casual. You know you like dress up! So multiple outfits for the win.

That dress is pretty, but you’ll totally blend in. Find somewhere else to wear it, though because I think you’d look stupendous in it.

I vote jeans and a cute top, especially if it’s what you wear the most often and you’re the most comfortable in. My engagement photos were just taken in what you would probably see me wear to work (a white blouse, orange tank, and my favorite jeans).

Also, multiple outfits are always an option. If you can’t pick, take two or three of different styles and just go with what you feel like the day of. :) They’ll look good, don’t worry.

That dress is gorgeous! If you’re not gonna wear it for the pics, you should probably just buy it anyway :)
As for the pictures, I agree with the people above- multiple outfits! Why not have one fancy outfit and one with just a cute top, jeans, and maybe some nice boots?
